What is an intake session?

Both you and your child will be invited to attend the interview stage of our enrolment process which is called an intake session. The session lasts approximately one hour and is designed to help us better understand your child’s unique communication and play style.

The laid back and enjoyable session gives your child a taste of the fun and safe atmosphere at Ruben’s Place. At the same time, it helps us determine if we are equipped to provide an appropriate learning environment for your child.

Before the session, you will receive a ‘Getting to Know You’ questionnaire. This questionnaire must be completed in advance so we can discuss your responses during the session and better understand your child’s needs.

It is important to note that by accepting an intake session invitation, that must not be regarded as an offer of placement; it is simply the next step in our application process.

How do you decide who is invited to the intake session?

We assess applications based on the order in which they are received and the suitability of available classrooms.

What happens after the intake session?

After an intake session, you will be notified of the outcome. If we have a suitable classroom and your child’s intake is successful, we will extend an offer of enrolment. If not, we will inform you accordingly and extend an invitation to remain on our waitlist.

How do you decide who is offered an enrolment at Ruben’s Place?

Placement offers are based on classroom availability and the ability to match your child with the appropriate learning environment to ensure a positive and supportive experience.

What are the fees?

For general enquires regarding fees, please contact our office on 9639 6152 to schedule a call with our Finance and Business Manager, Martin. During the waitlist application process you will also receive notification of fees.
