Due to the continued growth and expansion of Woodbury, we are seeking two enthusiastic, passionate and caring speech  pathologists to join our wonderful team of special educators, behaviour analysts, speech pathologists and therapists.
Position Type:
  • Commencing Term 1, 2023
  • 1 x Speech and Language Pathologist at Woodbury (K-6 school, Baulkham Hills)
  • 1x Speech and Language Pathologist at Ruben’s Place (school readiness for 3-6 year-olds, Bella Vista)
  • School based position, no weekend work
  • Full and Part time opportunities available

 

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Speech Pathology Degree
  • Be eligible for Speech Pathology Australia Membership
  • Have an interest in working with children with Autism in a school-based setting
  • Demonstrate a happy, caring and positive personality
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be committed to personal and professional quality improvement through mentorship and collaboration with an experienced speech pathologist and clinical team.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work collaboratively in an integrated setting consisting of special educators, behaviour analysts, therapists, and parents.
  • Demonstrate good time management and organisation skills
  • Keep up to date with current research and identify area’s for further professional development.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a small team
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a team and promote co-operation across multiple roles within the school environment
  • Have interest in working with/learning to work with children with Autism, specifically using behaviour analysis
  • Have interest in working/learning to work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication and echolalia
  • Have interest in learning about NDIS and person-centred planning

About Woodbury:

Woodbury Autism Education and Research offers outstanding educational and related services for students with autism spectrum disorder, for children aged 3-12 years of age. Our early intervention centre and primary school offer a high degree of structure, excellent staff to student ratio and the systematic use of behavioural teaching techniques. A large focus is placed on the area of group instruction and the ability to independently and successfully participate in a wider community of social and academic settings. Students are assigned to classrooms based on the level of support they need to be successful within their daily teaching activities. Goals related to education, behaviour support, communication, language and functional life skills are customised to meet each child’s needs. A collaborative approach between teaching staff, ABA/ behaviour specialists and speech and language pathology is utilised to maximise student’s progress.
