These Kimble Chase KIMAX melting point capillary tubes are used to determine the point at which a solid sample turns to liquid. Sealed at one end. Tube length ensures that the open end will extend well above the bath’s surface to prevent the bath liquid from entering the tube. Packaged with 100 tubes per vial and 20 vials per case. These tubes meet requirements for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E438, Type I, Class A, Standard Specification for Glass in Laboratory Apparatus, and the glass conforms to USP Type I requirements. They are made from 33 expansion borosilicate glass, which has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and very high resistance to chemical attack.
