The Art of Living with Huntington's Disease Paperback – February 4, 2024

Rachel has lived with symptoms of Huntington's Disease, a rare neurodegenerative disorder, for at least 25 years. At the beginning of her journey, the symptoms did not interfere with her daily life but as time went on, her life became profoundly affected. In 2020, Rachel took up watercolor painting by taking a class led by one of her best friends. Rachel was new to art and found that she had a talent for it. By the time Rachel began painting, she was already living with her daughter and requiring a substantial amount of help to live with her progressing Huntington's Disease. At the time of the publishing of this book, Rachel lives in an assisted living home to help with her increasing care needs. She still paints with her class every Wednesday and wants to share her art with the world.Rachel wants to remind everyone that while you can't control the cards you are dealt, you can choose how to play them. Her goal is to donate the proceeds of this book to causes that support HD patients and to research that is diligently working toward a cure for this disease. Read more
